CCSD update for fall start of school

The SC S.C. Department of Health and Environmental Control COVID-19 activity rating placed Chesterfield County in the “medium risk” category last week. Chesterfield County is one of only seven counties in the state that had a “medium” rating. The remaining 39 counties were in the “high risk” category.

District superintendents from across the state are meeting with State Superintendent Molly Spearman this Thursday and expect to get additional guidance from the S.C. Department of Education and SCDHEC as schools approach reopening. The Chesterfield County School Board will review a plan for a reopening strategy, slated by the end of this coming week, and prior to public release.

The district appreciates the public’s patience as it uses all of the relevant input and data to make informed plans for both students and staff.

More information will be posted to Breaking News as details become available.
