Schools closed Sept. 20 and 21

Teacher work day Friday

Chesterfield County School District has issued the following statement:

‘After careful review and consultation with a number of local and state agencies, we find it necessary for Chesterfield County School District to be closed for students Thursday, September 20, and Friday, September 21.

‘Friday will be a teacher work day for all district staff from 8:00 am until 3:00 pm. 

‘While we understand that the decision to close can be very inconvenient for families, the health, safety, and welfare of our students and staff requires us to make this decision.

‘We tentatively anticipate returning to a regular schedule Monday, September 24, and we will provide further information during the weekend.’
