McBee Rescinds Mobile Home Policy

May 24, 2018

McBee town council rethinks mobile home policy

Following a 45-minute executive session at a called meeting Thursday, May 24, in which McBee Town Council discussed the legal ramifications of a recently passed motion regarding mobile homes, council returned to open session and unanimously rescinded that motion.

The original motion, which passed unanimously at the May 1 regular meeting, read, “that mobile homes immediately be refrained from being placed on any lot within the town limits of McBee and any uninhabited mobile homes cannot be occupied.” Councilman Macey Stephens was not present for that May 1 vote.

Making the motion on May 24 to rescind the May 1 motion was council member Kemp McLeod, with the second made by Mayor John Campolong. All council members were present for the vote to rescind the May 1 motion.
