Threats made regarding Cheraw High, Long Middle schools

The Cheraw Police Department was made aware of someone posting false information about a threat at Cheraw High School and Long Middle School. We have identified the source of this post and has arrested Eric Davis for Disturbing Schools for the false Facebook post he created.
“We take all information serious, and when we have someone post false information on social media and that post creates a disturbance within our schools, we will seek out the person that posted the false information and charge them accordingly,” said Cheraw Police Chief Keith Thomas.

Threats made about Chesterfield Ruby Middle School

The Chesterfield County Sheriff’s Office has placed extra deputies at Chesterfield Ruby Middle School today due to comments a student made about having a gun at the school.

According to Sheriff Jay Brooks, the student was identified and contained in the office within minutes and then was taken to the Department of Juvenile Justice last night.

“People have got to realize how serious these threats are. If you threaten to bomb a school, bring a gun or shoot up a school, it is very serious and will not be tolerated by the Chesterfield County Sheriff’s Office or the Chesterfield County School District,” said Brooks.
